The Unbinding: No.1 (Casells’s German)
2026
Using a deconstructed 1950s dictionary, I explore the entanglement between personal heritage and forms of inner writing. Navigating the silk-like glide of vintage linen, gestural graphite lines act as a thread connecting the book’s original typography with fluid, asemic marks. Through a series of propulsive graphite and pastel movements, the surface becomes a site of energetic renewal. The work captures a fortuitous connection between the rigid structure of the printed object and the elasticity of human expression.
