What forms
2026

What Forms draws on my ongoing engagement with letterforms and the history of written language — the idea that marks carry meaning long after their original context has dissolved. Working with washed layers of colour, pastels, graphite and oil sticks, I embed and build up clusters of gestural writing until language becomes material trace. The source text speaks of extinct life embedded in matter, of understanding forming from fragments — which is also what the painting itself does, layer by layer.
